CONSTIUTIONALISTS

Post  Tolstak on Mon Mar 22, 2010 10:23 pm

Based out of a sprawling underground necropolis beneath what was Fort Leavenworth in Kansas, the necromantic Constitutionalists dream of a world where America has been returned to its full power.

However, the Constitutionalists do not seem to actually understand what ancient Americans really believed. They have perfected Necromancy to an art form, and the highest members of their society (official title: High Senator) are incredibly powerful liches. All living agents of the Constitutionalists seek to achieve this state, officially known as "Equality in Death." However, Death is not always an honor; Nazis and Soviets, even innocent civilians, are frequently killed and reanimated as mindless zombies for grunt work and front-line fighting.

The central regions of the United States have been decimated by reckless use of tacnukes, invented by the Soviets around 1960 to combat the superior magic of the Nazis. However, the Constitutionalists, growing out of civil unrest before eventually declaring its existence publicly (with its own Declaration of Independence) in 2005, have latched onto this almost-unlivable region and carved out sprawling necropolises beneath the region.

Their biggest threat is their numbers: though rough estimates put the number of Constitutionalists around only 500,000, spread throughout the country but concentrated in the Midwest, their mastery of Necromancy gives them a huge advantage in that every death for the enemy boosts their work force and their military.

In addition, the use of zombies for most tasks means that they can dedicate themselves to the study of their twisted religion, as well as the advancement of their necromantic studies. The Nazis frown on necromancy and reserve it as a punishment for race traitors, occasionally turning dead inferiors when the situation demands it, but most Sorcerers find Necromancy abhorrent and many Sorcerers who study Necromancy are affected by a strong social stigma. The Constitutionalists, however, have perfected Necromancy at the expense of almost all other magic.

As far as their religion goes... Constitutionalists practice a religion based on a twisted, demented interpretation of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the speeches of various US presidents, all of which are considered holy texts. They worship the Founding Fathers and several of the more well-known presidents as gods, calling them "Founding Lords," and seek to bring half-crazed, undead, inhuman versions of them into this world to reclaim America from outside invaders. Rumors say that they've begun preparation for the ritual that will release the most dangerous of the Founding Lords, Andrew Jackson, often called "The Hickory Death."

Just putting this out there... but didn't Ben Franklin invent some device for communicating with the dead? Would suggest he had knowledge of Necromancy... how wild would it be if Ben Franklin is still around manipulating things from the shadows? >>

Maybe Edison's Necro-phone was the start of it. Some Americans hiding out in the Edison Museum from the Soviet invasion are just trying to stay quiet and warm. Then a phone rings, but all the power's out. One unsuspecting citizen picks up the Necro-phone and hears a Voice that tells him exactly what he needs to do.

Alternatively.

We go VOODOO on this.

The No-Man's land is based around the Mississippi region right? Wouldn't that mean New Orleans was one of the major resistance hold outs? New Orleans Voodoo for zombies, death gods, Baron Masadi fused with George Washington, the source of ol Hawk-Eye's legend, a swamp of necromantic power and acadian legend =P
